I am sick...

...of being sick!!

I actually got dressed this morning and tootled off into town. I haven't managed to get to the green grocers for a few Saturdays, what with one thing and another, so I was determined today. I was supposed to be meeting up with friends in Chester, but we thought it best I not spread the lurgy...

I saw this in the car park and it made me laugh - I guess only people of a certain age might get it :-)

Anyway, I've had a lovely afternoon in the kitchen, with the door open to let in (what I suspect might be the last of) the summer sun. Today I've made chunky vegetable chilli, creamy gnocchi with bacon and courgette, baked beef enchilada and tomato and basil pasta sauce, and the carrot and coriander soup with pearl barley is in the slow cooker.

Yay me.
