5 o’clock start again. Far too early for a Saturday! I got ready for Annecy, and left the house in time to get the earliest train into town to meet my friends at the Parte-Dieu station. Once I arrived at the village train station, I saw that my train would be 15 minutes late, which meant I might miss the train from Lyon to Annecy. But I tried to make it anyways, in the hope that maybe the other train would be delayed too. A bit of hopping on and off trains and metros, and I finally reached Parte-Dieu, but missed the train by just 4 minutes. I know I could have waited for the next train an hour later, but I was too tired and frustrated that I decided to go back home to have a cuppa and some Mich time.
So instead of being in Annecy, the morning was spent first on skype with Jess for over 3 hours. We laughed, we cried, and just talked for ages. It felt so nice just ‘hanging out’. Missing her lots. Don’t know what I’d do without skype. After talking to Jess for ages, I then rang home to talk to my parents. I had such a good chat with both of them. But I hope you both feel better soon! Love you.
In the evening I met with Hana and Charlotte in town. It was so busy, even for a Saturday. This weekend is the weekend of ‘Patrimoine’, during which different places that usually aren't open to the public are especially opened, to allow people to learn a little bit more about the culture and history of the country. So after struggling to get through crowds of people, we sat in a little café, talking, and watching the world go by. A little bit later we then met a few more people and went for a late dinner. It was funny to see that with each of us being from a different cultural background, we’re used to doing things and approaching situations slightly differently. But it was an enjoyable night.
I arrived home eventually, and went almost straight to sleep. Looking forward to a bit of a lie in tomorrow. Early mornings are definitely not for me!
