Not brave, or stupid, just at a barrier controlled level crossing, so quite safe.
On my walk I realised that the cold weather is coming because my hands were getting cold holding the camera.
Have changed my camera strap, from the usual type that's attached either side of the body, to one that screws into the tripod mount. It allows camera to 'sling' over the shoulder like a bag and the weight makes it hang comfortably. It is also a smoother action to lift and shoot. No mild strangulation involved as the strap rotates around the shoulder. Much easier now bulky coats are the order of the day.
