after the funeral, keith and i headed out a different way from wills point before going back to richardson to have dinner with his mom and brother and head back to austin. the point was to stop by where i spent the first 7 years of my life or so, the piece of land i grew up on in wills point.

well, here it is. there used to be a house off to the right, set back from the road. it burned down in 2007 - you can still see some of the charred pieces from the gate. the gravel trailing off to the right used to be the driveway. the stock pond is back to the left. when we lived here my dad cleared the mesquite and this was all open. but now it's pretty wild again - we drove past it at first, because i wasn't sure and couldn't believe it looked this way again. but here it is. something odd about the whole experience.
