Looking for the sun.

There were signs of the sun early this morning with this amazing sky (Chris to thank for that) and on the way to church I photographed this cheery little sunflower growing out of a crack in the pavement outside a friend's house - you can see a bigger one against the wall behind, still to flower.

But despite the signs of sun and continuing summer I knew what had been forecast and sure enough, I returned from church in a howling gale and horizontal rain.

It was pretty cold too, really autumnal, but the forecasters say it will be warm again by the weekend. We shall wait and see.
