not the Bristol half marathon

one of my brothers in law, and his daughters ran the Bristol half marathon today, in excellent times. My brother in law is a bit of a frequent marathon runner, but it was the girls' first go at a long race. They're planning to join him in London to celebrate his 60th birthday next year - see Bob the nomad's entry for the man himself.
It was a bit of a family event as my sisters both came to watch and to celebrate my birthday with the runners, and my daughter and granddaughter who hosted a lunch (and showers!) after the event. Little R was inspired by the runners, though her course was a bit shorter - just a quick sprint across Queens Square.
