world in a grain of sand

Bernau

We've been visiting our daughter in Berlin. She took us to Bernau, a little town at the very end of the suburban line ( must be the German equivalent of Amersham!). It's a pretty walled town with a moat, it used to be quite rich in the days when Brandenburg was an independent state.
It was a good trip to Berlin, including a visit to the Turkish market, and an urban cycle ride. There are great cycle paths most of the time, but a roundabout with road works caused a bit of anxiety.
