A Lonely Turnstile

Had a walk around Queen's Park, Heywood. It's a lovely park, but the weather wasn't. Very brief sunshine and then heavy rain - and it had turned quite a bit more chilly.
Rather intrigued by this lonely turnstile down by the boating lake. It wasn't guarding the entrance to anywhere - it was just 'there' !
Note the autumn leaves - I think summer has just left us :-(
