Claire and Clare
Although the photograph has nothing to do with either Claire or Clare, today I had the pleasure of Skyping both of them (at separate times of course!) to catch up on our various lives. Was absolutely lovely to see them both, makes me really look forward to going back to university so I can see the two of them face to face again.
So a little bit about them I suppose! So my first Skype was to Claire, my best friend and ex-housemate from second year. Physicist, blonde, pole dancer and archer…really not performing to type I guess! We knew each other from first year, but got so much closer during our second year as we were living together. We’ve shared a lot of ups and downs, a lot of wine, a lot of nights out and a lot of secrets. It will be great to actually see her face to face…I did manage to get to see her for an evening in February, but we have kept in touch through Skype as well which has always been fun!
My second Skype of the day was to Clare, another best friend and soon-to-be housemate of this coming year. Also a coursemate, one of only sixteen English and French students graduating from the University of Warwick 2014 (yes, we really are a small year!). I think I met Clare on one of my first days at Warwick, as we’ve been friends ever since. I used to be a lot louder than her, but since two years of university and a year abroad, she is definitely a lot louder. Visiting her in Amiens was hilarious fun, drinking too much wine and generally acting like students…will be an experience for anyone meeting us for the first time I think!
My third Skype of the day was to Thom, and as always the internet was awful…but it didn’t matter, at least I got to see him which made me happy. Not long until he also finishes work thank goodness, never again for either of us!
The rest of the day was spent trying to catch up with Blip, it will take a lot of time I know…but I want to do it! For this reason, and the fact I spent no time outside, this photograph is taken indoors, and also in low light as I hadn’t managed to stir myself to find my camera until the evening…the colours of these gladioli really caught my eye.
