Leaf beaver and robot :)

Today I had the children work on an individual leaf project representing something from their imagination. Some made fish, some made people, one little girl used acorn caps for stars in her sky. It was fascinating to watch them choose each piece deliberately to use as an ear or an arm. Each child had their own concept of what would work best to achieve their envisioned final creation. There was great concentration going on while a Camellia hip was tried here, rejected and replaced with a ripened Alder cone instead. This was fantastic! I can't wait to do it again with unnatural objects such as screws and washers, bolts and copper wire! Here are 2 examples that I thought you might enjoy.
