Honeyless combs
I think I posted a few days ago that I would Blip one of the combs after it had been "robbed" of it's honey. One can see that for the most part the wax cells are largely in tact. In spring they will be put back in the hives and the bees can very quickly start to fill them saving an enormous amount of energy which they would need to build it from scratch.
Still haven't found an ideal storage place for these comby for the winter and was horrified to see wasps had somehow got in the boxes. One wasp can be seen on the right hand bottom side. Have now got them in sealed boxes but lying instead of standing.
