My Older Sister
She is not only my older sister, she is my only sister. I was born two days before her second birthday and I guess the sibling rivalry began that day. We are as opposite as two people could possibly be. I look at her and see my Grammie Teele. I can hardly believe how much she looks like our father's mother.
She is here because she was going to make a road trip to Tennessee to check out the property back there. A friend told her that she ought to drive from Portland, Oregon to southern California and then start driving east on Interstate #40 from Barstow to Tennessee. So a few weeks ago she emailed to explain that she would be in this area for one evening and wanted to know if we'd be home. I responded that we would be home.
She arrived this past Friday afternoon and is staying at our daughter's place. We've had dinner with her several times and tonight she came here for dinner and to hang-out with us. While she was busying herself on her new little iPad, I captured a photo -- not a good photo -- but a photo.
She as now decided that she is not going to drive to Tennessee. Instead she is going to just spend some time here with all of us and then head back to Portland. Then in the future she'll fly to Tennessee to look for property. She wants to get away from Portland. She says it would cost lots less to live in Tennessee. I think she's crazy! but I am the baby sister and what do I know.
In Portland she owns an urban farm -- two plots of property with two houses and one large shop that includes an apartment. She wants to the sell the entire place all at once -- has a contingency regarding that -- then she'll move to Tennessee to start a new urban farm and restart her K-9 Kamp business.
So that's the news for today.
