Beachcombing

South Rim (Hopi Point) at sunset.

Long drive from Kanab to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Stop off at Lees Ferry on the way where we saw several raft groups preparing to float down the Colorado. Finally arrived at the Grand Canyon south rim and took the shuttle bus to Hopi Point. The contrast from the North Rim was incredible. Where we saw two people all day in the North, the South was awash with people and we had to fight to secure our places to photograph the sunset (not literally but you know what I mean). The lack of cloud cover meant that the sunset was not as spectacular as it could have been but it did provide some highlights.
In this Blip the rim glows with the reflected sunset whilst the canyon below retains its natural colouring, increasing the perception of depth.
Tomorrow is a helicopter flight through the canyon which will hopefully produce a different perspective.
