Views of my world

Wet

I picked the wettest day to hang out with the children at Woodland Wonders but we all proved that a set of waterproofs and a good pair of boots were all you need to combat the rain. Spirits ran high as children with toy horses strapped round their waist galloped past while some glitzy butterflies fluttered past waving their glittering wings. Playing in the spiders web was great fun and looking at the slug in the magnifying pot was fascinating. Watching children who have only been going to the woods for three weeks explore with confidence, telling me stories about the fairies, the giant who chopped down a tree, the tears of the queen of the forest and the tree serpent who guards the woods so there is nothing to be scared of was just brilliant. I saw children practicing routines, trying new things, persevering, looking closely, helping each other and most of all having fun! They loved the story they shared under the shelter using the new nursery iPad, a perfect blend of technology and nature.
