Day 28 - Western Brook Pond, Gros Morne Nat. Park

Gros Morne National Park is beautiful, so I am glad we had a full day to explore it today. We set off early and drove to the north of the park (Cow Head) for a short walk along the coast. We also stopped to see a lighthouse, a shipwreck, a restored fishing hut and fisherman’s house, some seals and the Tablelands Mountain. Today’s photo was taken at Western Brook Pond (which is a fjord, not a pond). We had planned to do a long walk here, but found that we would have to ford a shoulder deep river in the freezing cold. So we quickly changed our minds and settled on a 7km loop instead which took us past some nice scenery, a calm lake and the rough choppy waters of Western Brook Pond.
