Common Wall Lizard

It's good to see these when in France. They are 'common' but fascinating for those from the north who are unlikely ever to see lizards.

They like sunny, rocky areas so our house wall provides this as well as plentiful cracks. This one disappeared into the ventilation brick seen on the picture.

They move very quickly in a jerky manner a bit like old silent films.
