'The Scallop'
This a stainless steel sculpture on Aldeburgh beach which is dedicated to Benjamin Britten who used to walk along the beach. It's pierced with the words "I hear those voices that will not be drowned" which are taken from his opera Peter Grimes.
It stands about 4 metres high and has apparently caused some controversy with the locals. There has been petitions for it's removal but as it's now been there 10 years I think it's there to stay. I quite like it!
