Sunday afternoon in the park
I went for a walk this afternoon. The sun was shining strongly and only the tint of the leaves suggested that summer is over. Otherwise, the park was full of strollers, people reading books in the shade of the trees and children lazily tossing stones into the lake.
The figs were dealt with today. Some were frozen in a syrup and others roasted with honey for tonight's ice cream pudding. My experiment to air dry some seems to have been successful. The dried fruit tastes sweet and juicy with just a hint of moisture and the figs have not gone mouldy as I had feared.
