Posters from a different age lay down the law to visitors to one of the few remaining Ontario drive-in cinemas, the 5-Star at Oakville. The sprawling three-screen drive-in, a few minutes' drive from our home, will soon close for the 6-month off-season. Wonder if it'll open next year? It's in the middle of a massive redevelopment area and seems destined to be replaced by rows of identiplex houses and the usual crap shops. Heritage, tradition and novelty count for little when there's quick cash to be made . . .
