.......not breakfast......

It probably wasn't a good idea to go to the gym after a five hour fishing match but after the terrible football result it seemed like a good idea.

I know most of you think fishing is just sitting around f0or a few hours but there's a lot of lifting and muscle activity as well....an aluminium seat box full of tackle and bait and a flask weighs about 20k, net bag 3k and two 13 carbon fibre poles and a rod about another 5 k...all has to be carried from the car park to the peg...maybe 400m...and back at the end of the day...rough paths and slopes....and then casting out and shipping poles in and out......it all adds up.

Anyway...to the gym.....possibly slightly over reaching on the seated rower...something in my right elbow went.....ping!......when I say ping I mean....bang!!....o.k. it was more of a BOOM!!!

I think it's a ligament....I did all the ligaments in my left knee many years ago playing football...it feels very similar....sharp intense pain when lifting or extending the arm......almost no pain with arm bent at elbow.

You know the saying.."No pain, no gain"....me too....so I carried on and finished the set...again probably not a good idea.......I'll see if it settles over the next day or two.

The photograph? It's what happens at 3 minutes to midnight when you remember you haven't got a blip...and then realise you're eating a bowl of Cheerios!
