The Cemetery

I visited the Presbytere du Saint Front de Pradoux, the nearest village to where we are staying. The church is pretty, but locked so I couldn't see inside, but the cemetery was more interesting. This must have been a poor congregation. Many of the stones were crudely cast in concrete, and many of the monuments were in cast iron, and many of them were broken. Some of the memorials looked like two pieces of scaffolding tube lashed into a cross with some cord. This all added to the sense of tragedy of the churchyard, exacerbated by the stark shadows of the overhead midday sun.
