A new queen for next year perhaps?

I spotted her walking across the grass just after lunchtime and a very laborious journey it was too as she negotiated each long blade. In the end we rescued her and placed her on this plant - I forget its name but the bees love it. So hopefully it will have provided some sustenance to keep her going. She really was huge, which you can't tell from this photo and I think she's a buff-tailed bumblebee.

Worked on photo-editing this morning and then undertook the start of some major shrub clearance in the garden this afternoon. I've almost filled the green bins again!
