Solana beach - the 101 tour
Took the day off work. Spent the day with mum cruising up the historic freeway no 101 which heads north up the California coast.
First stop solana beach where this panoramic blip was taken. A beautiful sunny day (2nd day of fall) with hardly a breeze as we were having a rare offshore wind day. A nice walk along the beach here. Then further north to Encinitas to check out the beach and town there. Plenty of surfer dudes out catching waves - I wonder what they do for a job? Spot of lunch then onwards further north to Carlsbad.
A quick stroll along the beach by the desalinization plant (I take mum to all the nice spots) before heading back south towards la jolla.
Stopped off at Torrey pines state beach and another long walk along the beach underneath the impressive sandstone bluffs.
Finally one more stop off at the glider port above blacks beach for a view of la jolla and la jolla shores before returning home for a well deserved snooze. Foot much better today, soaking in the cool salty sea water helped.
Nipped into work this evening to defrost some cells for the weeks ahead. Green card interview tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
