Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Pool with a View

We enjoyed the spa portion of the pool until after midnight last night--so here's what it looks like before dark this evening. We are both so glad that we invested in the pool improvement this summer. We still have to finish the backyard re-do and now that we're back home from vacationing we can get focused on that.

I had planned to share a photo this evening from Scott's Open Mic Night in Yorba Linda, but after Mr. Fun got home from work and we'd eaten dinner, he said that he really needed to prep for tomorrow and he wondered if I'd be okay with not going. I told him, "Sure!" I mean, I really wanted to go, but there's times I need to stay home and get ready for the next day so I identified with him.

But then I panicked -- I had not taken one photo all day because I was planning to blip Open Mic Night. So I was instantly out in the backyard and had 73 photos within a span of 20 minutes . . . the pool, the neighbor's beautiful palm trees, a fabulous capture of a new rose bud, Mr. Fun's marigolds, and lots more of the pool with all the pool toys--the big floatie of Shamu, the huge round tube that we both fit on, and a little Tristan size surf rider.

The one above sort of captures the angle we had last night after dark and the lights off in the distance were like "nail holes in the dark." You'll just have to imagine it.

Tomorrow I go with our daughter, Deidre (Dede to me), to hear "The Girls" in Laguna. It's gonna be a great afternoon and evening, but I won't be blipping till late.

Good night from Southern California.

P.S. We're still sticking with our dieting. He's lost approx 25 pounds and I've lost 13 or 14 pounds. We're excited about this.
