End of a lovely autumn day

Another day at the railway, guarding Cranbrook Road crossing. An 8 hour shift that seemed to pass in a blink.

I've posted many shots of locomotives and trains taken from here this year so, although could have posted another such image I decided to show the line at the end of the day with the sun gently setting after a warm, sunny day. For the first time this year I was able to sit outside the hut and enjoy the weather for most of the day.

What did I do - read alot, the paper, some railway magazines that had been left by previous occupants, a book. A little snooze and a trip to Tesco. There was no water in the hut and if this is the case then you ring up the Tenterden signalman and ask for a large bottle for the cooler to be sent down on the next train. Unfortunately there was no water to be had at all of any sort so I had to get the Tenterden Signalman's permission to leave the hut and drive to Tesco to pick up a bottle or two.

Came home at the end of the shift and went for a run seeing as Susan was out with her mum in Canterbury before making tea.
