Another Blip Meet
Shelley and I hit the dusty trail at about 7:30 a.m. Or rather the foggy trail. The fog was dense.
We were on are way to meet Sefferdog, and his wife Jen. We were to meet up at 10 a.m., at the Toledo (Ohio) Art Museum. We pulled into the lot at 9:59.
Before we met them, Shelley and I went to the Toledo Botanical Gardens. THE DAHLIAS ARE OUT!! THE DAHLIAS ARE OUT!
A TV reporter with her camerawoman was interviewing an employee. "The great thing about dahlias is that they come in so many colors, and are pretty hardy."
We hung around, hoping for a little TV time. No such luck. So we left.
We went both to the Art Museum, and the Glass Museum. Toledo is known for their glass making. In another life...my Dad and I ran the Glass City Marathon.
Both museums were nice...full of priceless art pieces, and men in suits. The suits were keeping us from planning a big art heist, and making sure we didn't take pictures in the featured traveling exhibit.
I don't think Wade and I grasped the culture concept quite like the ladies did. I heard him say once about a priceless big piece of furniture..."That would look real nice in my living room...with a big screen TV, and a plateful of nachos on it." (Wish I would have said it.)
The great thing about Wade (Sefferdog) is...he'll do anything you ask of him. Posing on benches, framing his head in glass, striking the same pose as a statue, etc., etc.
I'm just glad there wasn't a giant nude statue of David anywhere. (I wonder if he would have done that?)
Fun day...good times. WAY too many pictures are on my FLICKR PAGE. More of the posers, the pretty dahlias, and a magnificent cathedral that we couldn't get in.
The background is a piece by glassman Dale Chihuly. An awesome piece that gave off some great shadows.
