Sea squirt, or sea tulip

I had difficulty choosing today. My big camera had its first outing for a while, so I have heaps of images, most destined for the trash, but fun to try things out. It was a most enjoyable morning with photographer friends.

These are sea squirts, also known as sea tulips, and I think the scientific name is Pyura pachydermatina. I particularly liked this clump, which is larger than most I have seen before around here. We've had some rough weather with big seas recently, so perhaps not surprising that these were washed up on the beach.
