Starstruck
After an amazing breakfast of frosted-flakes-and-banana-pancakes with maple syrup, thanks to J+A, I wandered around downtown in the Western wear store (I don't think the sales assistant was impressed when I said I wanted a souvenir like a hat... maybe she was thinking that I'm "all hat and no cattle". Ha!), and then headed to Platte street for a bit of boutique shopping (not enough places like this in London!), and, more importantly, to meet A at 'My Brother's Bar' - one of Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady's old haunts! I was entirely starstruck. So excited to be there! We were both still stuffed from breakfast so we just got a drink and some friend, plus I tried jalapeno poppers for the first time.
Then A went to his meeting, I sat around soaking up the 'beat spirit' as best I could, and reading some interesting leaflets, and left to meet A and pick up T, chatting to a local on the way who told me about the bar, and another local who walked me to my destination! Lovely people.
In the evening (after a football game I wasn't really following, but saw in the smiles and t-shirts of everyone downtown), I met a new friend for a drink and chat. And sampled some Colorado beer. :)
P.S., I know the picture is probs of little interest to most of you, and displays little to no talent (on my part, that is - it's a picture of two geniuses!), but it was a board by the loos in the pub and is all about Mr K, so it's really more for me. ;)
