The Great Divide
A took T and I to Montesouma today, a ghost town in the mountains...
We saw some deserted mines (a lot, actually), and an old school house, and a couple of other buildings.
The scenery was amazing - long winding American roads, aspen trees mid-colour change, clouds rising from the mountains like smoke... got a lot of photos in today.
T was a bit of a grumpy gal in the car in the morning but once we got out into some 'real nature' (villages with a population of 50 in the middle of nowhere didn't count, obviously!) she was loving it. That girl's a better hiker than I am, that's for sure, especially in that wind.
Did a bit of walking and wildlife-spotting after some bumpy driving and locals-spotting and ghost-town-explaining to T.
Got back very tired, to a house full of J and A's friends and their kids, for a festive feast. Very nice 'entourage' they have in Denver. Lovely evening, tummy was especially happy. :)
