Bubbly

Beautiful big bumble-bee brilliantly bubble blowing..........bingo, a blip!!!

Very slow and steady this bee worked the tiny pink flower heads of the sedum in the cool of the morning. In fact so slow and steady that I managed to run inside and grab my extension tube to get that bit closer.

In getting just that bit nearer he was noticeably blowing a bubble! It is thought to aid digestion or be a temperature control mechanism or even for cleaning. A lot of insects do this with the exception of dragonflies.
