After doing the normal early morning chores today, I set off into town excited and eager to pick up a copy of the new National Geographic magazine which has a special photography edition to mark their 125th anniversary.

I was slightly disappointed though when I found out they hadn't got them in yet. I could have downloaded a digital copy by now but wanted a hard copy as this was a special edition. I shall have to wait I guess...

Anyway, I had my camera with me, as usual, and caught Reem here along the main high street. Her pale complexion and bright red lipstick stood out against the crowd.

I got a few shots of her in this composition and a couple 3/4 length but preferred this, even though she isn't looking at the camera. She was slightly reserved but happy to accommodate, commenting, "I've never been photographed in the street before".

Reem is Egyptian, and is hoping to study English Literature at University, after having finished her radio course which she is doing to fill the gap/time.
