Meet Tessa!
Well, I'd like to introduce you to the newest member of our family, Tessa. Tessa translates to Harvester and since it's Autumn I felt it was a very appropriate name for her. My sister actually suggested the name (self proclaimed 'godmother' to Tessa).
I have to say, I didn't wake up today thinking I was going to come home with a dog. I knew we had plans to look at puppies but I really didn't think it was going to happen today. When we walked into this one place and I spotted this dog, well, it was all over. I had to have her. I didn't even know what kind of dog she was or how old she was or for that matter how much she cost!!
I had asked if we could bring her into the 'play' area to see how she interacted with us and she was adorable. Playful, a little shy and full of spunk. Thinking about having the grandchildren at home I had to get something that wouldn't get too big and that got along well with children. We asked questions. Found out she was four months old, had all her shots and was part King Charles Cavalier and part Lhasa Apso.
My husband was not convinced yet though and said we should keep looking. I gave the dog back with a heavy heart. We got to the car and I couldn't stop thinking about her. We drove home and after lots of begging, pleading and some tears, we called them back. Why this particular dog pulled at my heart strings I have no idea. I can only tell you I'm extremely happy to have her home with me. She is a sweet, sweet puppy and wonderful fit with our family. I suspect she will be the subject of many blips to come.
