Sea Horses on Mull
Holiday Backblip
A bit of a frantic start to our holiday on Mull, as Simba had to be rounded up to go to the cattery and he wasn't playing ball! How do cats sense these things? It meant we were later getting away then planned and the timings of the AA Route Planner were rubbish and it took nearly an hour more than they had suggested to get to Oban for the ferry. However, we made it and had a lovely smooth crossing, in spite of a very heavy mist over the sea.
We are staying in the Ross of Mull (in the south), so it was a drive of over an hour to get to our holiday cottage, by which time the mist had settled lower and we saw very little of the scenery en route. The cottage is delightful - it's always a worry when you book online that the photos will not represent the real thing, but these did not do it justice. It is set right beside the Loch na Laithich, although we could barely see this at first:-)
However, within an hour or so the mist lifted enough to see - sea horses!! Two mares and two beautiful foals just across the road from our window:-) Can it get any better than this for a horse lover? Tomorrow will tell!
