Portbail
A fantastically warm and sunny day - not at all what we were expecting for late September. We went down to Portbail to investigate the harbour and town. A little market was in full swing and we had a potter round the stalls. We bought a little packet of local walks from the Office de Tourisme and decided to try one of them out.
The tide was about to go out when we arrived and we didn't know if we'd be able to make it across the marshes to the dunes. Luckily the small footbridge was accessible and we had a great walk through the marsh, across the dunes and along another clean, sunny and deserted beach.
The tide was almost out when we got back to the town and it looked very different with sand flats rather than sea up to the edge of the buildings.
