Sanderlings

Decided to do another long walk along the beach from Lindbergh plage almost to Creance. We watched small fishing boats being launched from tractors on the sands and paddled our way up the coast. Lovely sun, summer-like heat and a relaxing day.

There was a flock of sanderlings (possibly with some dunlins hiding amongst them) on the beach. We watched them shoot forwards and backwards as the waves came in and out. They finally took off as I tried to get closer. I like the shapes that they make in flight.
