Dalkeith Country Park

A beautiful September day. Thought we would make the most of it - so took No 3 and her bike to Dalkeith CP.

This place was always a hit with the big girls, but sadly, they have taken away the massive adventure playground in the trees (I suspect Mr Health and Safety had a hand in!). Also the tea room in the old stables was shut (wot- no cake!?) and the old Orangery was fenced off. The girls loved to play in it and pretend they were princesses.

Even the 'caves' were shut (we always told the girls that a bear lived in it!)

There's a sign at the Orangery saying there were plans to restore it but I'm sure that's the sign we spotted about 10 years ago!

Still - it was a great place for a wee pink bike ride.
