Calm before the storm

We decided to have a morning round the hotel then walk down to Salou late afternoon for a bit of shopping and tea. The walk down is lovely - down a path by the beaches with gorgeous views.

We had a wander, I treated myself to a new handbag, Lottie spent her money that was burning a hole in her pocket, then I ran across to the beach to get a picture of the sunset - missed it actually going down but still got the glow.

Unfortunately the evening went downhill after this - we tried to use our euro credit card that we had loaded up and it was refused. We had a meal and went back to the hotel where I went online to see if I could find out why. We had been keeping a check on what the balance should be so to find out we were down to 2 euros was a bit of a shock. An emergency phone call to the helpline later - somebody had tried to use the card in Chicago for hundreds of euros!! Fortunately the card company had stopped the transaction as it looked odd - but we now have to prove we weren't in America to get the money back.

It ended up being a late and stressful night - fortunately we did have other means of paying for things and it was the back end of the holiday. Can't believe how some people operate!
