Gandharva Loka - The World Music Store

We stopped in at Granville Island, Vancouver before heading home this morning. I had to see this shop. Gandharva Loka is Bengali for the "Abode of the Celestial Musicians" and aims to please. We watched a fellow play the hang, a drum-like percussion instrument made in Switzerland. It sounds much like a steel drum from the Caribbean. It's just a small shop but they have crammed in so many amazing instruments from all over the world....ocarinas, ukeleles, drums, cymbals, kalimbas....right up to kazoos!
