Walking in the typhoon
We are having the most rain Portland has ever had in September (and that's saying something), so the autumn plums, the apples, the haws from the hawthorns, all this plump red and orange profusion, all is being swept off the trees into puddles, gleaming and wet. So what do people in my place do when it rains? We go walking in the rain, of course, hoods up. Some even carry umbrellas, because these sheets of rain are too intense for our hoodies.
Comments off. What can we say about the weather? Only that it's wet.
