Leicester City of Culture 2017

I was at the Clock Tower to see off Leicester's bid for city of culture 2017! The mayor, his deputy and the mayor for Leicestershire ceremonially departed with the box containing the bid on a 100 year old traction engine. Covering at least part of the route to Manchester! Passed a little close but this is my best iPhone snap.

Do hope we win the bid, it would be superb for Leicester's burgeoning creative community and really give Leicester an opportunity to show what is best about the city. The huge diversity of people working across so many disciplines in art, digital media, theatre, print and photography could really shine. The Cultural Quarter makes the Highcross shopping area seem so boring to me, let's focus on culture for 2017!
