15.5C with occasional bright spells. Light breeze.

Apothecary7's day off. Just for a change we headed off towards Perth to visit two antique centres out in the countryside near Raitt. We have a notion to find a small piece of furniture of some undefined nature to go in a corner of the living room.

We have a look now and again to see if something takes our fancy. We did see some possibles today. Two little narrow chests of drawers and one writing desk. I like the writing desk but I think it would be never used as such if placed in the corner. More looking required.

In the first centre we did buy a 'moon vase'. It now sits on top of a display unit in the dining room next to a small Crail pottery vase with matching colours and some 'blob birds' from a pottery on Mull.

In the second centre, where we had lunch in the Tufted Duck cafe, I spotted a blue Celtic Pottery piece from Newlyn. Nice Celtic designs on it. Couldn't resist it. We did resist the range of stoneware jars and jugs though.

In the afternoon Maeve the Deerhound, who had sat patiently in the car through our antique viewing, did get her walk. We went down the bridle path and along the beach. We met a very nice little lurcher walking along with its owner. The owner stopped for a chat. The little lurcher and Maeve stood still. We decided they were both very good at standing still.

On our way up from the beach to the Fishermen's huts I stopped and got this blip of the lower hull of 'Valhalla VI' which was on its trailer on the soft sand. All the boats were out of the water. The moorings and the channel marker posts looked rather forlorn without boats.
