As Mrs ATV watches the new series of the sad, sorry procession of the afflicted paraded and humiliated in the name of Saturday Night Entertainment I am forced to reach for my laptop, my Walkman and headphones.

It's somewhat ironic that one of the worst singers on the last series of XFactor was Cheryl Cole hereslf and that Danni Minogue is famous only for having a famous big sister.

It's very sad that the British music and media industry supports and promotes this nonsense when it seems unable to do the same for genuine artists who they are unable to manipulate in the same manner.
