Casa Fide
Arriving on La Palma just after 6pm we had an hour and a half of sunlight to get to the Villa 52Km away the other side of the mountain.
La Palma is basically a volcano formed from the Atlantic seabed about 4 million years ago, it's highest point is 2.4Km from sea level, but another 5Km is below the waves!
To travel East to West you have to climb nearly to the top on wiggly roads vanish into a old tunnel and then wiggle down and across the gorges on the other side.
The sun ran out when we were still many miles from the cafe where we were supposed to pick up the keys, driving the mountainous hairpins was an adventure for our driver .
Finally we arriver at the Mirador El Time and met Ana and Luis They made us to understand we had to follow them to the villa We arrived, with smoking tyres, 10 minutes later. They tried to explain stuff and in the end they gave up and left us to it. They also left us food, so we had toast and cheese and jam on the verandah and made friends with the geckos.
It all looked lovely.
We drank the local wine and went to bed.
