Angle Shades

The colourful autumn moths are starting to appear in the light trap now. When you disturb the Angle Shades it plays dead and falls into the autumn leaves where it is very difficult to see.

It's pattern looks bright but because of the way it holds it's wings and it's autumn leaf colours it is well camouflaged. This is a common moth in many gardens but do you ever see them during the day? I never do even although I know where to look. Such great camouflage.

Looks good large where you can see the body detail.

Camera club tonight and the topic "less is more" makes me think of big landscapes.
