A playground for the mind
An early work-related blip from me today before heading off on our long drive south. I had a meeting in Westhill Library this morning. It's a fairly new library, built after some controversy as an attachment to Westhill School. One of the statements that's painted on the walls is the title of this blip. I think it's a great description for a modern, bright library like this one. I'm amazed at the contrast between this and the dark, wooden-panelled, quiet library in Stirling where I was introduced to books as a child over half a century ago. It didn't put me off reading and learning but I'm sure it did others. This, on the other hand, fills me with optimism for future lovers of books and learning!
