I left the house this morning at 7, and didn’t get back again this evening till 9.
I started this morning early with lectures. Towards the beginning of the afternoon, I went to meet with some of the girls from church. The plan was to walk to different sites around the city and pray. We prayed for redemption, we prayed over poverty in the city, we prayed for restoration of hope, and we prayed for love, sacrificial and abundant love.
After enjoying some of the best burgers for lunch together, we then met at the top of the Fourvière hill with a missionary in the city and gained a little bit more of an insight into Lyon’s history. Both Pontius Pilate and Herod were exiled to Lyon which was the capital of ‘Gaul’ at the time. To close off our prayer walk, we stood at one of the highest points of the city, taking in the breathtaking views, and praying over the city. It was encouraging and incredibly empowering.
After hanging out with the girls a little bit longer, I headed off to go teach English. The girl I taught on monday and the guy I taught today are brother and sister. Aged 17 and 16, there is a massive difference in their level of English, meaning I’m having to completely adapt from one to the other. Thought its a little bit of a challenge, I’m really enjoying it.
I came home to find some post from the UK waiting for me. I love getting post, so thank you Alison and Jess, I loved it! Had a little lump in my throat reading it. Missing you lots! But today has been amazing. I’m loving this city, and every single person I’ve met so far, and everything I’ve had the chance to do.
