Another Languedoc year...

It's only rain

It's raining cats and dogs today. I love the sound of the, until recently, parched soil slurping up the water. It's not particularly cold out, so I did some gardening in the rain. Weeds came out without resistance, seeds didn't mind a ready supply of damp soil and the roses needed dead-heading having drooped with the weight of the water.

I also did a bit of a sweep-through harvest in the vegetable garden and came away with several types of tomatoes, three kinds of peppers, broccoli, aubergines, physalis, strawberries, two types of courgette, radishes, parsley and a surprise find of field mushrooms which had popped up in the orchard. Not bad eh?
