Goredale Scar Malham Yorkshire Dales National Park

After the excesses of yesterdays wedding Mrs Wild and me headed out to Malham for a walk. Gordale Scar is a Limestone chasm with a waterfall seemingly blocking the path. The waterfall can be climbed and the path followed above. Mrs Wild thought it was too wet today, I didn't think it was wet enough. The bloke in the shorts gives you a sense of scale. the water emerges through a hole in the rocks higher up and can just be seen. We retreated down the valley and took the high level permissive route above the gorge that gives you a great view of the chasm. We continued on to Malham Cove here and finished with cream tea sat in a garden by a lovely clear water stream. There would appear to be a cream tea price war in Malham Village. Prices ranged from £4.95 to £3.50 at the various cafes in the village . I was happy to pay £4.50 for the lovely surroundings and a comfortable garden bench.
