To the botanical garden with my brother and SIL

Coming down from an event like the wedding is hard. I find myself still overwhelmed. Today the baby and I took my brother and sister in law to the botanical garden. We had a very nice time, although it wasn't terribly exciting for them. It's quiet beauty was just what I needed.

Mara and her great uncle got to look at a movie set. Mara tried to run them ragged. Later everyone gathered round my mother's old dog who now lives with me. She is hanging in there. I wish I had gotten a picture of my brother and sister-in-law together like I had planned but never managed to do.

Today, I give thanks for the day I was given, beauty in life, family, love and joy.
