Plums
These are now ready for picking. I feel some jam making coming on....
Thanks to everyone who sent their good wishes yesterday - I am reasonably certain it is just a cold and not swine flu (or *Wine Flu) but am keeping warm and staying away from work just in case. Plenty of marking here to keep me busy!
*Wine Flu:
If you wake up in the morning feeling not very well, with what could be described as flu-like symptoms: headache, nausea, chills, sore eyes, etc, early indications are that you may be suffering from what experts are now calling Wine Flu.
This debilitating condition can be quite serious - and it appears it is not an isolated case.
Reports are flooding in from all around the country of others diagnosed with Wine Flu. For anyone that starts to exhibit the aforementioned tell-tale signs, experts are recommending a cup of tea and a bit of a lie down.
However, should your condition worsen, you should hire a DVD and take some Nurofen (ibuprofen seems to be the only drug available that has been shown to help combat this unusual type of flu). Others are reporting beans on toast can also help in some cases. Still others swear by a large bowl of corn flakes.
Wine Flu does not need to be life threatening and, if treated timeously, symptoms can be alleviated within a matter of hours.
PS If the patient seems to be complaining a lot, it may be that he has contracted the mutant variant Whine Flu. This strain is more likely to affect men and can usually be confirmed by their partner developing a pain behind the eyes.
